Ga. — Authorities in Savannah, Georgia reported that three workers were hurt on Tuesday when the third story of the federal courthouse collapsed.
According to Wayne Ifill, battalion chief for the Savannah Fire Department, the workmen were at the 125-year-old Tomochichi Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in downtown Savannah when a portion of the floor collapsed onto the second level.
According to fire officials, the workers’ wounds were not thought to be life-threatening.
As the third story of Savannah’s federal courthouse falls, three workers are hurt.

According to WSAV-TV, the cause of the collapse, courthouse which happened at around 3:30 p.m. EDT, is still being looked into.
Ifill told reporters, “The floor falling in shouldn’t have happened. We all are aware that this building has been undergoing renovations for at least a year. Also, we are unsure of the precise activity that led to the fall.

According to WSB-TV, the structure is located courthouse close to Wright Square in the heart of Savannah.
According to the Morning News, the building will be shut down until the structural engineer from South Carolina arrives to assess when it will be safe to re-enter.
According to the U.S. General courthouse Services Administration, which is in charge of the project, Brasfield & Gorrie, a company located in Birmingham, Alabama, is the one renovating the structure, WSAV reported.
According to WTOC-TV, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson told reporters, “They don’t have permits from the city to perform their business. It’s a major project, of course. Indeed, it’s a large structure. As an older structure, it has had difficulties. Thus, we’re only worried about the people who work there as well as those who are surrounding it.
