In her most recent Netflix special, comedian Amy Schumer made fun of Hilaria Baldwin’s controversy regarding her Spanish ancestry.

Throughout “Emergency Contact,” Schumer poked fun at her husband, Chris Fischer, but she also noted that “He can stand me.”
Do you all recognise Hilaria Baldwin? Asking the crowd, Amy Schumer.
I’m speaking it incorrectly. She said, “I’m sorry,” before assuming a Spanish accent and pronouncing Hilaria.
The former yoga instructor, Hillary Lynn Hayward-Thomas, was charged with embellishing her Spanish ancestry after it was revealed on social media in 2020. Hillary Lynn Hayward-Thomas was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
So, Schumer continued, “I just can’t get my brain around this narrative. If you’re wondering who I’m talking about, this is Alec Baldwin’s wife.
At “Saturday Night Live,” Schumer recalled having a backstage encounter with Hilaria “years ago.” Amy stated, “I saw her and I said, ‘No, thank you.'” Alec had tried to introduce his wife to the comic.
I’m trying to maintain my self-esteem, OK,” she continued. She is a small Disney princess, and from most perspectives, I resemble Ben Roethlisberger.
Hilaria, according to Schumer, had a “very thick, Spanish accent, from Spain.”
She referred to Hilaria’s infamous vegetable tale in which she forgot how to pronounce the word “cucumber” on “The Today Show,” saying, “You might have seen her on the morning show having trouble pronouncing the word, how you say, cucumber?”
“They have a von Trapp-esque number of kids, and I believe they all have names that are distinctly Spanish, like Flamenco, Croqueta, and Jamón. And everything would be lovely if it weren’t for the fact that “Hilaria from Espaa” is really Hillary from Boston.
“This woman is in no way Spanish,” Schumer continued. Not from Spain are her parents. Nobody she knows is Spanish. Your reaction is “What?!” Did you really believe I was just portraying a pretty racist Spaniard for about fifteen minutes?
Hilaria claims she was reared in Boston after being born in Mallorca. In April 2020, she claimed in a podcast that she had relocated to the country when she was 19 years old in order to attend NYU.
I’m not attempting to intimidate a sociopath, then. OK? I’m making a point. stated Schumer. I can’t tell you how much her family is not from Spain, but I believe what had happened was that she travelled to Spain. They arrived in the US before others did.
I don’t give an f— about you. On the Mayflower they were. That is how much of a Bostonian this girl is.
In a subsequent Instagram post, Hilaria expressed regret for the misunderstanding and acknowledged that “culture, languages, sexual orientations, religions, and political beliefs” are “allow[ed] to be fluid.”
“I believe that she travelled to Spain, which is what happened. I had the good fortune to visit Spain. Some of you already have. It’s wonderful, right? Do you not adore it? I concur; I enjoyed it. But Hillary from Boston f—ing loooved it!”
The “Trainwreck” actress assumed Hilaria’s accent and said, “I am going to be from it!”
Did you know that you may simply choose your place of origin? Before revealing that her driver’s licence indicates she is from Splash Mountain, Schumer added.
“My argument is that there is overwhelming evidence that this woman has blatantly faked her Spanish heritage ever since she met her husband. Her husband also shot someone. Stay with me right now.
On the set of “Rust,” a revolver Alec Baldwin was holding discharged, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter in January.
In October 2021, Hutchins passed away. In May, the accusations were withdrawn.
My argument is that neither of them cares. Find a someone who can tolerate you, Schumer said.
