On “American Idol” on Monday night, Katy Perry received jeers for attempting to dull a contestant’s shine.
After the contestant sang a dynamic rendition of “Paris (Ooh La La)” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, the 38-year-old “Firework” singer encouraged “Idol” hopeful Nutsa, 26, to alter up her glittering silver outfit, matching boots, and pop diva dancing steps for a more understated performance.
Perry’s criticism of Nutsa began, “Nutsa, every time you take the stage, it’s like you glitter bomb the stage,

Listen, there is one thing I would want to see from you going forward: no glitter. I am aware that will be challenging.
“Liner, maybe. Just the [glitter] eyeliner,” Nutsa agreed to in response to criticism.
A torrent of boos came in as the crowd at Kapolei, Hawaii’s Aulani, Disney Resort & Spa clearly disapproved of Perry’s performance.

Luke Bryan, 46, and Lionel Richie, 73, two of the other judges, sprang up in shock at the response.
“Yes! Katy received boos. Bryan yelled.
First time in six seasons, I guess. Woohoo!” Perry returned the clap.
“What I’m saying is that I’d like you to flip the script,” Perry added. I believe that we all desire to be drawn in by our hearts. America might enjoy seeing that as much as I do.
The participant Nutsa was subjected to “psychological warfare” by Perry, who was previously criticised by viewers for doing this to other competitors. Before Perry announced that they were moving on to the next round, many participants became tearful at what seemed to be the end of their adventure.
Sara Beth Liebe, a quirky 25-year-old contender, was allegedly mom-shamed by Perry during her audition. She then made an attempt to atone for her transgression by pleading with Liebe not to withdraw from the tournament and go home, but eventually failed.
