Ted DiBiase Jr., a former WWE Superstar, was freed on bond on Thursday after being accused of many theft, fraud, and money laundering offences.
In the vast benefit fraud scandal that has enveloped Mississippi, DiBiase was the first person charged. He is accused of stealing millions of dollars from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the Emergency Food Assistance Programme, money that might have been utilised to aid low-income families in the state.

Six counts of wire fraud, four counts of money laundering, and one count of conspiracy to conduct wire fraud and theft were brought against the former WWE Superstar. DiBiase may spend as long as 80 years in jail if found guilty on all counts. He was handcuffed in court on Thursday and entered a not guilty plea.
DiBiase was seen leaving the court on the same day after being released by ABC-affiliated WAPT16. The date of his trial is set on June 19. After leaving the courthouse, he also said this to a reporter:

On Thursday, DiBiase also tested positive for marijuana and Adderall. DiBiase’s attorney, Scott Gilbert, disclosed that his client has been treating his ADHD with hemp oil and CBD gummies. DiBiase has been using his brother’s medication because his own one expired two years ago.

Through his Heart of David Ministries, the renowned wrestler was also embroiled in the Mississippi welfare fund controversy. In October 2021, a court issued a judgement requiring him to repay $722,299 in stolen money. In 2020, Brett DiBiase, his second son, entered a guilty plea to making false claims.
