Moonbin : A member of the K-pop group ASTRO named Moonbin passed away on Wednesday at his residence in Seoul. He was 25.
The band and its management company released a Korean-language statement on Twitter confirming the pop star’s passing. They made no mention of the reason.

According to the organisation, “ASTRO member Moonbin abruptly left us on April 19 and has since become a star in the sky.” Fans were asked to hold off on “speculative and malicious reports” so that his family could handle the information. The funeral will be held as quietly as possible, with just family, friends, and coworkers present, the agency noted, in honour of their desires.
Moonbin’s manager discovered him dead at home in the affluent Gangnam neighbourhood at around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Korean news agency Yonhap. The management then called the Seoul Gangnam Police Station.
Moonbin, who was born on January 26, 1998, was a singer, actress, dancer, model, and member of the band Moonbin & Sanha. Six-member male K-Pop group ASTRO first gained notoriety in 2016 with the release of their debut EP, “Spring Up.” In that year, they were ranked among the top 10 new K-Pop acts by Billboard.

According to a statement released by ASTRO early on Wednesday, the & Sanha tour stop in Jakarta has been cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
The news of passing resonated throughout the K-pop community as mourners and admirers lauded the singer for introducing them to the genre.
The most recent in a string of young Korean superstars who passed away unexpectedly was Moonbin. The deaths of two additional K-pop singers in 2019 caused South Korea to reflect on what went wrong with one of its most successful cultural exports. A 26-year-old South Korean starlet named Jung Chae-yull was also discovered dead in her home earlier this month. Although not all of the incidents have been classified as suicide, some have.
