After a few weeks of vocal rest, American country singer Morgan Wallen has been given the all-clear to speak and perform.
The 30-year-old singer claimed to have suffered vocal fold injuries in May. The trauma forced him to cancel a number of performances, including two in Pittsburgh. The June 14 and 15 gigs in Pittsburgh were postponed to late August because Wallen’s physicians recommended six weeks of voice rest.
On Instagram, Morgan Wallen declares, “We back.”
The ‘whisky glasses’ singer revealed in an Instagram story on Tuesday that his doctor has now given him the all-clear to sing and speak once more. He uploaded a photo of himself lounging on a yacht. In the story’s caption, Morgan Wallen wrote:
The doctor gave me the all-clear, so we returned.
Wallen has not yet specified a return date for his appearances on stage.

The ‘last night’ singer disclosed his vocal fold trauma on May 9. Wallen revealed the injury in a video posted to Instagram. He stated:

“Let’s just get right to it, I’m going to. My doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Centre gave me some unpleasant news yesterday. I gave three performances last weekend in Florida after a 10-day voice break, and by the third, I was feeling awful.
Six weeks of vocal rest were prescribed by Morgan Wallen.

I had a scope performed yesterday, and the results revealed that I had vocal fold trauma and had harmed my vocal cords. They suggested that I take a six-week voice rest, so I’m following their advise. They say they don’t want me to talk at all, but if I do, they say it’s okay for a situation like this.
Morgan Wallen did not perform during his festival appearances, but instead missed the Academy of Country Music Awards due to his voice rest.
Moments before he was scheduled to play in Mississippi on April 23, Wallen cancelled his gig and made his first disclosure regarding vocal fold trauma. The artist then made the announcement that more gigs in Michigan, Illinois, and Nebraska would also be cancelled.
Wallen gave a performance on May 4 in Florida, and then he took a week off from singing.
