At Disneyland in California, a giant dragon erupts into flames during a performance.

Disneyland Videos of the event show the 45-foot-tall Maleficent Dragon’s head being completely consumed by flames, which then spread to the rest of its body.

On Saturday night at Disneyland, a large prop dragon caught fire during a nighttime spectacle, causing guests to escape the area. The ”Fantasmic!” performance at the Tom Sawyer Island attraction is where the fire reportedly originated, according to the New York Post.

Videos of the incident that were posted on social media show the 45-foot-tall Maleficent Dragon’s head being completely consumed by flames, which then spread to the rest of its body. As customers and Disneyland cast members were ushered away from the area, the entertainment was abruptly interrupted. An announcement could be heard in the background as flames from the fire could be seen rising high in the sky.

The performance of “Fantasmic!” must end due to unanticipated events. An announcer informed the crowd, “We sincerely apologise for any trouble this may create.

The Anaheim Fire Department responded to the fire, and no injuries were reported, according to ABC 7. It was unclear right away how much damage had been done by the fire.

Representatives from the Disney land theme parks confirmed that “the dragon caught fire during the final performance of Fantasmic at Disney land park on Saturday evening.”

“Tom Sawyer Island was safely evacuated with no injuries to any cast members.” The statement stated, “Attractions nearby the island were safely evacuated of any visitors due to smoke and wind, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.

Notably, Frontierland has hosted Fantasmic! since 1992, a live 27-minute spectacle. The spectacle includes live performers, pyrotechnics, lasers, music, and more in addition to fireworks and a vibrant water show.
