Till Lindemann Following one fan’s claim that her drink had been spiked at an afterparty in Vilnius last month, several people who attended concerts by the German band Rammstein have come forward to describe a system where young female fans are recruited to have sex with the shock rockers’ lead singer, Till Lindemann, during and after their shows.

Ahead of Rammstein’s sold-out four-night residency at Munich’s Olympic Stadium beginning on Wednesday, the rumours have gained traction, prompting the concert promoter to declare there would be no afterparties or a “row zero” experience for a select group of fans in front of the stage.

In light of the numerous reports and a two-year-old pornographic video in which the Rammstein frontman appears to insert his penis through a hole cut into a volume of his own poetry, the publishing house Kiepenheuer & Witsch, which released an anthology of Lindemann’s poems in 2020, announced it was cutting ties with the singer.

The band issued a statement on its Instagram page stating that it was taking the claims “extremely seriously” and requesting fans to hold off on passing judgement on the behaviour of both the ladies who had come out and the band’s own members.

The statement read, “We remind our fans: it’s crucial that you feel pleasant and safe at our events – in front of and behind the stage.

According to a previous tweet, “With regard to the allegations circulating on the internet about Vilnius, we can rule out the possibility that what is being claimed took place in our environment.”

Rammstein, one of Germany’s most popular musical exports, are well-known for its industrial heavy metal guitar sound and cabaret-style stage performances, yet the band’s reputation in its native nation is less certain.

The 1994-founded band has a lengthy history of exploiting inflammatory imagery and vocabulary from the Nazi era, despite Lindemann’s declaration that “we hate Nazis” in an interview with Rolling Stone. Rammstein’s lyrics were once hailed by critics for their artistic sensibility, but they recently started to become more overtly obscene.

A 24-year-old Northern Irish fan who had seen the band perform in Vilnius, Lithuania, two days earlier, brought the first accusations against the group to light on May 25. The woman said in a series of tweets and postings on Instagram and Twitter that she had gotten in touch with a woman via Instagram in advance of her trip who was rumoured to be able to help fans get into VIP parties before and after the event.

The 24-year-old was sent an offer to join “row zero” at the Vilnius concert by a lady going by the name of Alena Makeeva, who describes herself as a “casting director on tour with Till Lindemann” on her Instagram page.

She was taken to a tiny dressing area beneath the stage during a break, where Lindemann later joined her. The 24-year-old alleges the musician responded violently when she made it plain that she would not have sex with him.

The woman claimed that after having two alcoholic beverages at the pre-concert party, she began to behave strangely starting at around 8.30 p.m. She later worried that her drink had been spiked because of her erratic behaviour and memory lapses. She took a urine sample from a pharmacy, and the results revealed no drug use.

Till did not touch me, the woman wrote in a follow-up post on May 30. He acknowledged that I was against having intercourse with him. I never said I was raped by him.

Since then, numerous accounts of fans being “cast” to have sex with the Rammstein leader have been published in German media.

Another woman who went to an after-show party after a Rammstein concert in Vienna in 2019 and consumed alcohol is mentioned in a story in Süddeutsche Zeitung.

This woman said that after collapsing, Lindemann was “on top of me” when she awoke in a hotel room. The musician allegedly asked her whether she wanted him to stop after that and later exited the room, according to Süddeutsche.

Only the Vilnius instance has been reported to police, despite the fact that other articles have appeared in German publications and on social media. As a result, once the woman had returned to Northern Ireland, Lithuanian officials conducted a remote interview with her.

A decision on whether to launch a criminal inquiry has not yet been made, a Vilnius police official told the Guardian.

German media revealed on Tuesday that Makeeva, who was not a band member, has been denied entry to any future performances by Rammstein.
